Apple Sundae

What to do when you have some apples that are on their last life and some leftover vanilla ice cream?  My answer.  Make an apple sundae for dessert! I was thinking this might be yummy on top of oatmeal or pancakes too.

Here's what you'll need:
3 apples- any kind, thinly sliced.  I chose to keep the skin on, but you can absolutely peel them if you prefer.
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 stick butter
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 cup walnuts
1 scoop of vanilla ice cream per person

Makes about 6 servings.

Here's what to do:

Melt butter in pan.

Add in sliced apples.  Saute with melted butter.

Add in brown sugar.

Add in cinnamon and nutmeg.

Add in walnuts.

Stir all ingredients together in pan.  Saute until tender.

Spoon warm apple mixture over vanilla ice cream.

If you have leftovers, just store in container in the fridge.  Will keep for a couple of days.  Enjoy!
